David Milton has been commentating at steam and vintage vehicle rallies around the South West of England since 1972, his first rally was at Chilcompton near Radstock, North Somerset. His interest in steam started when he was a young lad at Glastonbury where his father was the good's foreman at Glastonbury station. In the late sixties David became interested in traction engines and he purchased "Comet" in 1968. He sold the engine in the early 1970's and it is now in the ownership of Mr Jerry Darch of Yeovil who renamed it "Princess Victoria", it is still regularly seen at the Steam events of the South West.
